Configuring Windows Volume Control (basic): For users with entry-level sound cards. Most entry-level cards do not come with their own software mixer; they use the Windows Mixer (Volume Control) instead. Recording & Playback Setup (basic): Whichever sound card you use, configuring N to work with your sound card is one of the first things you'll want to do. This tutorial shows you how to select 16- or 24-bit recording/playback, and how to choose your recording mode (mono, stereo, 2 mono tracks). Setup for Playback is usually done once (to match your sound card) and left alone. Setup for Recording, however, may change for every track you record. Selecting Track Bar Elements (intermediate): N-Track gives you the ability to customize the look and feel of much of the GUI (graphical user interface).
